Bookworm

People call me crazy because I only read non-fiction (minus the Harry Potter series, of course) - but I really thrive on learning (is that really geeky?). My belief is: If you're going to spend your time doing something, you might as well learn from it, right?

Here's my top 10 for geeky books I'm dying to read:

  1. Making Ideas Happen (Scott Belsky)
  2. Personality Not Included (Rohit Bhargava)
  3. Groundswell (Josh Bernoff and Charlene Li)
  4. Women, Work and the Art of Savoir Faire (Mireille Guilliano)
  5. Engage (Brian Solis)
  6. Ignore Everybody (Hugh MacLeod)
  7. Analytics at Work (Thomas Davenport)
  8. Linchpin (Seth Godin)
  9. Consumer Republic (Bruce Philp)
  10. Three Cups of Tea (Greg Mortenson)

All these titles and oh-so-much more are available online and in person at Chapters/Indigo.

Isn't it Wonderful?

I am not interested in money, I just want to be wonderful

Yup. That's what Marilyn Monroe once said... Now I'm saying it - Be yourself - fabulously classy and charmingly wonderful, and success is bound to follow!

So now here's my top 10 list (as requested by a lovely friend) of things that make life beautiful:

10. Getting a card in the mail from someone you see regularly
 9.  Laughing until your face hurts
 8.  Giving someone a compliment for no reason and watching their face light up
 7.  Long walks on even longer beaches
 6.  Wrapping yourself in a blanket and watching a classic movie on a rainy day
 5.  Eating junk food without feeling guilty
 4.  Getting lost in a book
 3.  Exploring new and untapped corners of the city
 2.  Having the freedom to make everyday something beautiful
 1.  Just being in the moment

Didn't anyone every tell you? The best things in life are free.
