Rêvant de Paris
The culture, the coffee, the siene, the architecture, the museums, the berets, the crepes, the crisp fall air...
I can think of no better place to be in the Autumn than the city of love and lights, Paris. And so here I am, on a rainy Monday morning, daydreaming about Paris... and I know that people say 'the grass is always greener on the other side', but I find it hard to believe that anyone could not like Paris! I mean, from free basic dental to 6 weeks vacation - they even have free post secondary education! It's kind of incredible... Socialist, yes, I know... but nonetheless, incredible.
One day in the very near future, I'm going to say 'Bonjour' to Paris and hopefully stay awhile :)

Spring in my Step!
As the official first full day of Spring... I couldn't think of a more apt title. And it holds true, I do have a certain spring in my step. Although there could be many, many reasons for this:
- I got my heels fixed today (while I waited barefoot in the underground PATH - need I say more)
- I've overdosed on the americanos today
- I've been living the good life in Toronto for almost 3 weeks!
- It's pleasantly mild in Toronto (considering...)
- I'm so busy at work, it's energizing!
- Or of course, it's the first full day of Spring!
Whatever the reason - I'm happy to be feeling light, energetic, smiley and everything in between. [Notice that's its well in the afternoon now - not even Spring could cure my "Monday-morning-already" syndrome].
The Curious Case of the Almond
That’s right. It is a curious case. In a city as big as Toronto – where I have been spending my time the last 2 weeks, I am baffled by the limited availability of almond milk at cafes and coffee shops! BAFFLED, I tell you.
Coming from Vancouver where there are more than a few cafes that serve almond milk (like Blendz, Trees, and Crème de la Crumb and Caffe Divano – just to name a few!), I am shocked that Toronto is so far behind. You would think that in today’s day and age (with all the lactose and soy allergies) – there would be some other options.
I know, I know… it’s not the end of the world – and my problems are quite minuscule compared to other issues in the world. But, I’m just sayin’…
Needless to say, I’ve gotten used to having Americano sans any dairy.
PS. From my experience, "Almond Fresh" is the best tasting brand out there :)
Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop
About this old coffee shop I love so much...
